My application to study abroad in Kiel, Germany has been accepted by U of I. The program starts in April and ends in July. Now I have to work on my plans for going over early and/or staying later.

Congrats! You will have a lovely time, I'm sure. I've heard Kiel is pretty cool, although it's location makes me think it's also cold. I would vote "stay later" if you had to choose one or the other. If I end up teaching English in the summer, I might go somewhere in Europe. Poland looks like a English-teaching mecca. You should scope it out.
And I sang in German in chorale today. Didn't sound nearly as bad as I would have thought.
